In September of 2016, we began the 6 month-long building journey. We partnered with BJ Oliver of All Over Solutions, and highly recommend him to anyone looking to build in the area. With his expertise in house plan design and construction and our attention to style and detail, we created this 2076 square foot, 3 bedroom/3 bath farmhouse style home. From the moment you pull into the driveway, the home is full of incredible farmhouse charm. The metal roof accents and exposed rafter tails along the front of the house are the perfect juxtaposition against the white painted brick and board and batten.
From the moment you step inside the home, there are so many unique details that catch your attention. The vaulted ceilings and large number of windows provide an open and airy feeling and make the living space feel much larger than it actually is. There are farmhouse touches all over the home, the most prominent being the use of stained wood. In addition to the stained beams, the stained cased openings, mantle, vent hood and pantry door all bring warmth to the space. The use of faux shiplap on the vault, kitchen island, and guest bath walls also add to the farmhouse feel. We outfitted the secondary bedroom closets with sliding barn doors, adding charm to the simple bedrooms.
Many times hardware, plumbing, and lighting fixtures can look too matchy matchy, like they were all chosen from the same collection or store. In the fairway project, each room has a look that is unique yet cohesive, reinforcing the overall design style of the house. Because this house was created for a family with kids, the flooring selection throughout the house were chosen for both aesthetic appeal and durability. "Wood like" vinyl was chosen for its ability to withstand the wear and tear. In addition, its rich colored wood tone provides warmth to the home. The primary color palette for the tile selection in the bathrooms and kitchen was white and gray. Each bathroom has a tile unique to itself and all are outfitted with white subway tile. A medium gray grout was used throughout for a seamless look.
